Has Twitter become too toxic, asked Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, reacting to the news of TV personality Chrissy Teigen deleting her Twitter account. Teigen had deleted her account after a decade, saying the platform no longer serves her positively.

In a tweet, the Bollywood actor pointed out that there is no accountability on social media platforms and came up with a solution to this. 'Opening social media accounts should be like opening any other accounts in the real world. You should need an id proof,' she wrote.

Bidding goodbye to Twitter, Teigen, who has more than 13.7 million followers on the social networking site, posted a long thread to her followers as a goodbye before deleting her account. The model and entrepreneur, who has often been the target of trolls, said she is 'deeply bruised' after taking many, 'small 2-follower count punches for years'.

'Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends,” Teigen wrote in her message.
